For a touch of old-style Arabia, without losing any modern comforts, desert resort Bab Al Shams is one of a kind. It means ‘gateway to the sun’ and the reasoning is obvious, especially if you visit in summer. Be warned, lower rates mean higher temperatures where the desert can hit the top 40s in July and August, making most outdoor adventures impossible.
